OUR CONCEPT

To establish Pharmacies/Counters in the hospitals to provide free medicines to the poor and needy patients. MediBanks at hospitals is the core scheme aimed at providing free medicines to non-affording poor patients appearing in the OPDs of the hospitals. The Pharma will be approached to donate medicines OR share partial cost with MediBank in Psychiatric and Cancer drugs.

OUR PROCEDURE

  • In every District there shall be a MediBank Pharmacy in a top level hospital.
  • Hospitals voluntarily provide free space along with facilities according to MOU.
  • The stock drugs is placed in the MediBank Pharmacy.
  • Certain number of RFID cards of MediBank are issued daily to Medical Officers in OPD.
  • The patient after diagnosis is prescribed MediBank drugs and is asked to present the card along with prescribing slip to MediBank.
  • On presentation, electronic thumb impression and a photograph the patient is taken and requisite drug is issued.
  • Next day, the same is repeated.
  • It is expected that through community donations, medicine donations will increase the number of patients.
  • The MediBank works under the general administrative control of the hospital administration and divisional/district community MediBank.
